Wintercamping

Last week we were on a camping with a group in Maasbree. Landscape was beautifull, with lots of snow, white trees and a blue sky with sun shining.

We visited a new museum in Horst, a former lacefactory. Lace was made here till 2006. Now it is a nice museum in progress. They showed also the international exhibition os the Pfaff Art Embroidery Challenge 2007 called "Still Life". It was well woth to go and visit it.

Afgelopen week hebben we met een groep gecampeerd in Maasbree. Door de sneeuw zag het landschap er heel anders uit, eigenlijk een beetje romantisch. De lucht was helderblauw en de zon scheen. Prachtig.

In Horst zijn we naar een nieuw museum geweest "De Kantfabriek". Tot 2006 werd hier machinale kant vervaardigd. Daar is nog heel veel van bewaard gebleven en te bezichtigen. Ook verschillende kantmachines kun je in werking zien. Het museum is nog volop in ontwikkeling.

Als wisseltentoonstelling was er de internationale Boorduurwedstrijd van Pfaff : Still Life".

Prachtige machinale borduurwerken werden tentoongesteld, waarvan ook een catalogus te koop werd aangeboden.

New Zealand

A lot of inspiration can be found in New-Zealand. On the Norhtern Island near Rotorua we visited the vulcanic area with pools full of magical colours and rocks in beautiful shapes and colours.
In Kawakawa we went to the toilets made by Hundertwasser. This building makes someone happy. I would that all the toilets were so funny. On other places in town you could see more work from Hundertwasser. He lived here in the neighbourhood for many years.

In Nieuw Zeeland vind je heel veel inspiratie. Zoals b.v. de prachtige vulkaangebieden in de buurt van Rotorua met de geisers, modderpoelen, silicaterrassen en prachtige kleuren in het water of de mooie rotsformaties met prachtige kleuren. Je blijft foto's maken.

In Kawakawa bekeken we het toilet van Hundertwasser. Je wordt wel blij van zo'n gebouw. Ik zou willen dat alle toiletten zo leuk waren. Ook op andere plekken in de stad was de hand van Hundertwasser duidelijk te herkennen. Hij heeft hier vele jaren in de buurt gewoond.
