I made a lot of stars in different sizes and colours.
I sold them, gave them to my children and hang some in my own Christmas tree.
I was in time with the preparations for Christmas because last Wednesday I got my first chemo-therapy agains a chronicle lymphathic leukemia also called indolent non-hodgkin lymfoom.
I will get 6 therapies with intervals of three weeks and also for two years an immuno-therapy.
It will be heavy, I will loose my hair, and my whole body will join the party. At this moment I'm rather fine.
I hope I will have time in between to do something with fabrics and yarns or some other creations and when not I have still a lot of books to read. I also have some workhops and I hope I can join them.

Ik maakte een heel aantal sterren in verschillende maten en kleuren. Ik verkocht ze, gaf ze aan mijn kinderen en hing er ook een paar in mijn eigen kerstboom. Ik was dit jaar op tijd mijn de voorbereidingen voor Kerstmis, omdat ik afgelopen woensdag mijn eerste chemo-therapie kreeg voor een chronische lymfatische leukemie, ook wel indolent non-hodgkin lymfoom genoemd. Er zijn in totaal 6 kuren met tussenpauzes van 6 weken. Daarnaast krijg ik nog twee jaar immunotherapie. Het zal heftig zijn, mijn haar zal uitvallen en mijn lichaam zal gezellig meedoen. Op dit moment voel ik me tamelijk goed.

Ik hoop dat ik in de tussenperiodes tijd en energie zal hebben om me bezig te houden met textiel en andere creatieve dingen en anders heb ik nog wel een hele stapel boeken liggen die ik wil lezen. Bovendien heb ik ook nog enkele workshops gepland staan en ik hoop dat ik ook daaran kan deelnemen.

Els van Baarle

This afternoon, I attended the opening of the exhibition of Els van Baarle and Ans Verdijk in the castle of Wijchen.
The textiles of Els are beautiful, rich of colour and pattern, full of history.
The works of Ans Verdijk are made with modern, waist materials, f.i. second hand childs cloth, little ends of candles, embellishment etc.
The whole exhibition was inspirational. You can visit it till 13 february

Vanmiddag was ik bij de opening van Els van Baarle en Ans Verdijk in het kasteel van Wijchen.
De textiele werken van Els zijn prachtig in hun gelaagdheid, rijk van kleur en patroon en vol geschiedenis.
Het werk van Ans Verdijk is samengesteld met modern afvalmateriaal, zoals oude kinderkleding, restjes kaars, borduurwerk tec.
De hele tentoonstelling vond ik erg inspirerend.
Je kunt hem nog zien tot 13 februari.

There is also an exhibition in het Valkhof in Nijmegen from Berend Strik. He embroiders paintings. This must also be an interesting exhibition. I hope I can go for a visit.

Er is ook een tentoonstelling van Berend Strik in het Valkhof in Nijmegen. Hij borduurt op schilderijen. Dit moet ook een hele interessante tentoonstelling zijn. Ik hoop dat ik tijd krijg om hier naar toe te gaan. De tentoonstelling duurt to 9 januari.
