Today we celebrated the 40th birthday of our eldest daughter Jacqueline.
Jacqueline invited us and our other two daughters with their families and a good friend of her for a pony and buggy ride in the forest and a meal in a pancake restaurant afterwards.
Their were three pony/buggies , weather was fine en we enjoyed the company of each other.
On the first photo you see our three daughters and eight grandchildren. Jacqueline is above left, at the right is Petra and in the middle is Elma.
At the other photo you see everyone in and around the buggies.

Vandaag vierden we de veertigste verjaardag van onze oudste dochter Jacqueline. Zij had ons , haar twee zussen met hun gezinnen en haar beste vriendin uitgenodigd om samen een pony ritje te maken in de bossen met buggies en daarna bij een pannekoekenrestaurant te eten.
Het weer was prima en het was erg gezellig.
Op de eerste foto zie je onze drie dochters en acht kleinkinderen. Linksboven Jacqueline, rechts Petra en in het midden Elma.
Op de tweede foto zie je ons allemaal bij en in de buggies.

Every Year the Dutch Quiltersguild "Quiltersgilde"has an exhibition in a region of the Netherlands, most in churches. This year it was in the "Sint Laurenskerk" in Rotterdam. I attended the opening, an after the opening other visitors could come in. There were a lot of people there and, what I most like at such openings, a lot of people I know And I could have a short or longer talk with.
In my photo's you see a sort of cake made of different things. It was very funny.
In the second you see an image of a detail of a second cake.
Annette is trying to make a photo of me, and I tried to make a photo of her and Hanne.
The last photo is of the quilt of Petra Robben. She loves roses, and I too. I can recommand the exhibitions of the Quiltersgilde, and surely in combination with the very good museums in Rotterdam.

Vandaag was ik bij de opening van de Algemene Tentoonstelling van het Quiltersgilde, die ieder jaar in een andere plaats wordt gehouden. Dit jaar in de Grote of Sint Laurenskerk in Rotterdam. Het was werd druk bezocht.
De tentoonstelling was mooi, met verrassende hoekjes. O.a. was werk te zien van de cursus Quilten Speciaal. Bijzonder was de taart van allerlei materialen met als thema Holland. De tweede photo is een detail van de tweede taart.
Annette probeert een foto van mij te maken, terwijl ik haar en Hanne fotografeer.
De laatste foto is van de quilt van Petra Robben. Zij houdt van rozen, net als ik, en zij gebruikt daarbij graag het contrast met "dierlijke" prints.
Een bezoekje aan de tentoonstelling is zeker aan te raden. Ook andere musea in Rotterdam zijn zeer interessant.

I now have a little bit an idea what to do, and I try to make some samples to have an insight in using the materials and the forms.

Hier zijn een paar voorbeelden van mijn pogingen om tot een quilt te komen, de opdracht voor het eindwerkstuk van de cursus Quilten speciaal. Ik krijg nu een beetje een idee wat ik ga doen en hoe ik de materialen ga gebruiken.
