Africa

The first picture is of our new house. We are there every day. This week and I think some more days in the next week the house will be painted.

My husband makes a new floor in the upstairs rooms. These rooms will be our working rooms.

The main bedroom is on the ground floor, even as the main bathroom. The garden is a fracture of the garden we have in our old house. Now we own 4360 m2, in the new house we have about 260m2. I will have more time tu quilt and make textile objects.

De eerste foto is van on nieuwe huis. We zijn er elke dag. De schilder is al de hele week bezig en volgende week zal hij ook nog een paar dagen nodig hebben.

Mijn echtgenoot legt een laminaatvloer op de bovenverdieping waar onze werkkamers zijn.

Onze slaapkamer en de badkamer zijn beneden.

De tuin is een fractie van onze huidige tuin. Nu hebben we 4360 m2 en straks is het ongeveer 260m2. Wat zal ik veel tijd hebben om te quilten.

Today I also visited the Africamuseum in Berg en Dal near Nijmegen. It is a nice museum with a beautiful collection. The outdoormuseum was not opened. You could take a walk outside, but in winter there are only the huts and little villages of the african tribes.

I found a lot of inspiration, made some sketches and of course, I bought 3 books. It was difficult to choose among all the wonderful books.

Vandaag heb ik het Afrikamuseum in Berg en Dal bezocht. Het is een mooi museum , met een hele mooie verzameling Afrikaanse kunst. Je kon ook wandelen in het buitenmuseum, maar in de winter is daar weinig te doen. Er staan wel de hutten en dorpen van de verschillende stammen, maar in de winter is de rest van de buitencollectie opgeslagen.

Ik deed weer heel wat inspiratie op en maakte een aantal tekeningentjes. En natuurlijk kocht ik weer 3 boeken. Ik wist niet wat ik moest kiezen, er was zoveel moois.
