Rooster and more

From a friend I got this rooster. He is perfect for my new kitchen. He looks like my old little rooster who's name was Joepie. So I call this rooster Joepie too. In my former house I had little roosters and chickens from the breed of the "Hollandse Kriel". They all had beautiful colours and Joepie was the most colourfull of all. My roosters and chickens now live on a children's farm in Nuland.

Van een vriendin kreeg ik dit haantje. Hij staat perfect op de kast van mijn nieuwe keuken. Hij lijkt op mijn oude haantje die Joepie heette, en daarom heet deze haan ook Joepie. In mijn vorige huis had ik een hele ren met haantjes en kippetjes van het ras : Hollandse Kriel" Ze hadden de meest mooie kleuren en Joepie was de kleurrijkste van allemaal. Het stel woont nu op een kinderboederij in Nuland.

This journalquilt I made from lutrador I painted when Maria and I did some transfer painting. I also used the soldering iron.
Maria liked this kind of painting very much, so I am curious what she had done with the painted lutrador.

Dit journaalquiltje maakte in de het polyester vlies dat ik verfde toen Maria en ik samen wat experimenteerden met transfer verf. Ik gebruikte ook het soldeerijzer. Maria vond deze verfmethode erg leuk, dus ik ben benieuwd wat zij ervan gemaakt heeft.

Drents Museum, Assen

Yesterday I visited with a friend the Drents Museum in Assen. There was an exposition of statues of chinese warriors from about 2000 years ago. The exhibition was interesting, but I found the tiles at the walls of the museum interesting too. We had to wait more than half an hour before we could enter the museum. There were lots and lots of people. That meand, that we were not able to see well large parts of the exhibition .

Gisteren ben ik met een vriendin naar het Drents museum in Assen geweest. Daar is een tentoonstelling van beelden van chinese krijgers van meer dan 2000 jaar geleden. Ik vond de tegeltableaus in het museum ook interressant. Het was verschrikkelijk druk. We moesten meer dan een half uur in de rij voordat we binnen konden. Omdat het zo druk was, was het niet mogelijk om alles goed te kunnen zien.

Kitchen

Our kitchen is almost ready. Some little things still have to be done. I am very happy with this kitchen which is very comfortable. I don't need anymore stairs to climb up for the very high cupboards from the former kitchen. And I have to learn new things, especially with the cooking. I now have induction and a steam stove to cook. The meals from the steam stove looks fine and they taste delicious.














De keuken is bijna klaar. Er moeten og een paar kleine dingetjes gemaakt worden. Ik ben er erg blij mee en ik vind hem heel comfortabel. Nu heb ik tenminste geen trapje meer nodig om in de bovenkastjes te komen, die in de vorige keuken zaten. Ik moet nog wel wat leren. Koken doe ik nu op inductie en met de stoomoven. Dat lukt al heel aardig. De gerechten die in de stoomoven zijn klaargemaakt zien er heel goed uit en ze smaken ook nog eens heerlijk.

My kitchen is almost ready. Next week I will publish some photo's.

I had to clean lots, lots and lots of dust. And yet I am still not ready with cleaning. In the little spare time and when it was to dusty downstairs I did some little paintings and stampings. Some friends and family celebrated their birthdays so I made some fibermail to bring them good wishes.

Mijn keuken is bijna klaar. Volgende week zal ik wat foto's in de blog zetten.

Ik moest heel, heel veel stof opruimen. En ik ben nog lang niet klaar met poetsen.

In de kleine stukjes vrije tijd, als het beneden te stoffig was, kon ik wat verf en stempelwerk doen. Een paar vriendinnen en familie vierden hun verjaardag en dus maakte ik fibermail om hun te feliciteren.
