hermitage

Yesterday I visited the Hermitage in Amsterdam. Te museum is a nice large building in the inner city of Amsterdam.
The theme of the current exhibition is "Life on the Russian Court". There were lots of fine dressings with beautiful embroidered pieces, men's cloth, paintings and also different other issues about the court's life in time of the Tsaar.
About the building itself, a former home for poor women, was information.
The museum shop had a good collection, lots of books and other goods to have, as you can see in the photo's.

Gisteren bezocht ik de Hermitage in Amsterdam.
Het museum is een mooi gebouw in de binnenstad van Amsterdam.

Het thema van de lopende expositie is Het leven aan het Russische hof. Er waren veel prachtige japponnen te zien, voorzien van schitterend borduurwerk, mannenkostuums, schilderijen en een heleboel andere voorwerpen die gebruikt werden aan het Russische hof ten tijde van de Tsaren.

Ook over het gebouw zelf, een voormalig armenhuis voor vrouwen, was informatie.

De museumwinkel heeft een goede collectie, veel boeken, kaarten en andere leuke hebbedingen uit Rusland, zoals je op de foto's kunt zien.
